Mark & Company

Wrecked the puppy drum this morning, had a school of them around us at one point and it was just silly  Picked a few more off until we decided to try the flounder.   Not as much action as the drum gave us but we picked up a few during a couple drifts.  Went live baiting at the end of the trip and got a nice striper.  The trout didn’t want to play today.  Thanks guys

Bruce & Company

Back at it this morning with more puppy drum!  Fished with Bruce and company and we threw spoons all morning for pups.  First spot was holding a few fish, and we pulled one out of there. Moved around and eventually found em.  Kept our limit and released more.  Thanks guys.

Second trip lasted about 30 minutes until the storms rolled in and altered our plans of slaying more fish.   Bummed for these guys as they drove from Corolla to fish.  We caught a tiny trout during our short trip.  I hope to have these guys back some day.

Been fishin’ alot

Been catching too!   We’ve had some great trips, with some below average trips thrown in the mix.   Overall I’ve had some great crews and we’ve  been having a blast.   I had a couple 6 hour trips the past couple days.  The first one we spent too much time looking for drum that just didn’t want to play.  Ended up drifting flounder and Blake pulled up a nice’n!   I had Cosmo and crew with me today and we found the puppies.  There one day, gone the next, then they’re back again.  Fishing baby, fishing……..  We enjoyed some ideal conditions and cranked on some purdy reds.  Fun times with these guys!  Thanks everyone for fishing with me, enjoying the great company!

NC Gator Trout!

Had Tim, Tom, and Kicker with me yesterday morning for a 6 hour trip.   We tried for trout in the morning and scored big time.  Tom pulled up one of the biggest trout I have seen caught on the Outer Banks – check out this Gator!  Stoked for Tom as he took it in and got his NC citation.   They didn’t want to keep any fish so we threw back some more trout and drum.

Afternoon trip was also fun – enjoyed having Luke, Ben, and Tom on board.  We caught our limit of drum and threw back some flounder as well…. Fun afternoon with those guys.

Today I had Doug and his Father-in-Law join me in a pursuit for some puppy drum.   The water was suuuuper low and I couldn’t get to a couple spots I wanted to fish.  We drifted for flounder while waiting for the tide and pulled up a couple throwbacks.  We fished really hard for a couple fish in the box.   Great crew, really enjoyed their company – hope I can get them on a better bite some day.  I will say that Dougs fish was a pretty epic bite , it followed behind the bait for about 30 or 40 yards before finally hitting it right next to the boat- good stuff!

Lastly – My buddy Patrick and I got on a fun little striper bite with live bait.  We sat back and jammed some tunes and caught quiet a few under corks with mullet.  Fun times!  Give me a call to book your trip, slots are filling up quick for the week.  Thanks for checking!

Blow days

I decided to reschedule a few trips away from all this SSW wind we’ve had.  We also had some thunderstorms in the area.  I loaded up my schedule for the rest of the week so I will have plenty of reports.  In the mean time, here is a shot of my buddy Ray from the school of drum that we came across the other day just off the beach on Pea Island.
