More Reports

The full moon super high tide allowed us to fish some new territory today. Most fish came from sight casting. The flounder was hangin in a foot of water so I hopped off the boat and netted it off the bottom, ha!

Today I had Robert, Bob, and Larry with me today.  We had a roller coaster of a day.  The morning started out with slow fishing combined with plenty of rain.  Not to mention the wind was honking a good 20-25mph out of the SE.   These guys grinded through it, and their efforts paid off.  The sun popped out and we found a bunch of drum feeding super shallow.  We ended up catching over a dozen easy casting artificial.  Fun day

What a week

Very busy week for ol Salt Minded Charters.   We’ve had some pretty consistant drum fishing this week.  It doesn’t seem to be quite as good as it was, but it’s still alot of fun and we are getting our limits.   The trout fishing has been on the slow side with a few keepers and plenty of dinks.  We had some decent flounder fishing when the wind came around – We probably caught about 30 flounder today – lots of throwbacks.   I’ve had some great crews with me this week!  Big thanks to everyone who has fished with me, I really appreciate the business!   Looking forward to a couple repeat clients next week, and hopefully some soon to be repeats.  Thanks for checking Salt Minded.com – Capt Dave

RAIN!

We have had more rain in the past couple days then we’ve had all summer.   Of course, it coincided with “turnover” weekend so the traffic has been madness.   All that equals me not leaving the house.  So finally Ray and I got stir crazy enough to go out for a couple hours when the rain seemed to be letting up.   It was still sprinkling a little, but we pulled some live baits around behind a chum slick and managed a nice cobia, a great way to break cabin fever.   Charters this week so stay tuned for plenty of reports and thanks for checking salt minded!

Half Tower

So excited about this new upgrade to the boat!   I am having a “Half Tower” built above the console.   I will also be moving all the controls to the top, making this the only station to run the boat.  This has many advantages – obviously for sight fishing, but also frees up one of the most comfortable seats on the boat for my guests!  Also will be adding more rod holders too.  Thanks for checking the site – Multiple charters on Monday and Tuesday so stay tuned for reports.
