I had 3 adults and 3 young fellas with me this morning.  The goal was to get some pullage for the young guys and try to round up enough fish for dinner.  Well, after about the third cast of the trip we hook into a 20″ trout and the 6 year old Tommy gets to real it in.  Needless to say, that set the bar pretty high for the rest of the trip.  We managed about 6 nice trout all over 18″ for about an hour in that same area and each kid got to wind a couple in.  The trout bite quickly died off and we went 30 minutes without a bite. Apparently that is just shy of eternity for 8 year olds.  We switched gears and got the bottom rigs out.  After pulling on some croakers, pinfish, and sea mullet for a while we head back to the trout hole to see if we can get a couple more.  They didn’t cooperate as we got a few bites but no more hook ups.  Still a fun trip with the youngins’ and I know they will enjoy their trout dinner!
