Don’t be one of the many many phone calls I get in the summer trying to hop on a charter the week your here! It’s going to be too late! I hardly have any May days open and June is booking up quick . I really appreciate everyone who had booked their summer fishing excursion!
Went down to the point yesterday and caught a couple pups and 1 big drum with my brother. Pretty early for the big ones! Maybe the Cobia will be early too.
Pretty brutal winter down here this year. It appears that our speckled trout may have taken a big hit. They have closed the season down on trout until June 15th. However, last time they did that we couldn’t keep the trout off our lures. Time will tell. The good news is the reds are doing fine and we’ve been able to continue to catch them – even in water in the 40s.
On another note, my May cobia season is booking fast as well as many summer dates. Let’s start thinking about a fishing trip with Salt Minded Charters! Thanks everyone for the support.
Lastly, there has been a slight increase in my rates. This was simply to stay in line with everyone else’s rates. We don’t try to undercut eachother. You can view those on the info page.

Well, the year is almost over. Sure did fly by this season. Thanks everyone who has fished with me. Some keeper stripers around and actually still a few trout too. Going to pull the boat in a couple weeks. Call me let’s go!
Phone ain’t ringing as much but were still going and still catching! Today was no exception. Great trout and puppy drum action.
My crew today was a blast. We tried the sound in the morning and it was scrappy. Couple small trout and flounder. 1 keeper flounder actually. Went in the ocean for a while to catch the drum that should be everywhere but they’re running a little late to the party. Came back in and found some small trout. Finally I hear that beautiful sound that is drag pulling off the real. A nice school rolled thru and we hooked a half dozen. Got another keeper flounder too. Lots of laughs today. Good day even better weather.
