Went down south today with my brother Matt and our buddy Tilford. Found a school of big drum early in the day and plucked one out of it. Spent the rest of the day looking at the ocean. Saw some big black drum, blues, albies, and plenty of other life. So glad the temps are warming up and things are heating up! Call me – lets go fishing.
It sure was nice to bring some fresh fish home for dinner for a change. 90% of the reds we are catching are over the slot size and have to get released. This striper went from the cooler to the oven this evening.
I’ve had multiple requests from 1 or 2 anglers that are interested in Cobia fishing this spring, and are also interested in splitting the trip with other anglers. This is a great opportunity to get out there, save some money, and meet some new people. So I am starting with 2 Saturdays at the end of May to put trips together. These are 8+ hour trips / 4 anglers / $700. The cost is $175 per person, and a $100 deposit is required to lock in your spot. The weather has been so nice lately! Loving it!!!! The saltwater species should be showing up real soon as the water temps continue to climb. I imagine there is a drum to be caught for those looking to do a recon mission. In the mean time I get my fix in the sweetwater. Here is a nice crappie I caught yesterday while I was bass fishing.
