Caught a few, missed a few….

Snuck out for an hour with my friend Chris Mascio for some late evening trout fishing.  The wind was honking so we had to find some protected waters. We got to a little creek mouth and managed to catch a few, break some line, sling some mud, and miss some bites.   A beautiful evening on the water out of the wind with an awesome sunset to boot.

Golden Morning Light

The alarm went off at 0500 this morning…. Loaded up the boat and off to the ramp we went. Matt and I set out for an early morning bite to start the day.  We decided to bring our real cameras along to try to get some good photos.  The fishing wasn’t read hot, but we managed a few trout and puppy drum.  Matt caught a nice fat healthy trout and captured some great shots of the puppy drum I caught and released.

Mother Nature

Spent the early hours of mothers day on the water with my Uncle David who was down from Yorktown Va. He has visited a few times but the wind has blown 20mph or more on each trip, making for very challenging conditions.  We finally caught a break in the wind and caught a mess of trout. We decided to keep a few for the dinner table. Happy Mothers Day, love you Mom…….. Love you too Mother Nature!

Crack o’ Light

Headed out for some early morning trout fishing with Matt today. We launched the boat at 0530 and we were fishing by 0532. We are fortunate to have such great fishing right in our backyards. We had to bounce around a little bit to find them, but we managed to find a great bite at a new spot. We caught trout and puppy drum with some nice fish mixed in. We called our buddy Ken over to get in on the action with his father who is in town from New Jersey. They started catching them good too, and later put a 22 incher in the box, go Ken! Here are a couple photos from the morning session.

Like a mirror

Fished early this morning for a couple hours with my brother Matt. The wind was non existent and the sound was like mirror.  We decided to get up at 0545 and be the first ones on the water.  We were joined by some local crabbers picking up the mornings catch.  We managed a few speckled trout before the fog rolled in and the wind kicked up. Here is a shot of one of Matts trout with perfect morning lighting.
