Multi-day report
Been running a few trips lately – the fish are still chomping… We have been mixing in the speckled trout early morning before heading to the drum beating grounds. A few shots from some of my recent trips.

Hello out there! I just got back from an awesome vacation with my wife to beautiful Nova Scotia. We did some sight seeing, hiking, and stuffed our faces with some delicious seafood. It was a nice kidless getaway as we were both in need of some “disconnecting” after a busy summer.
Well, I’m back – and I actually have quite a few charters lined up. Stay tuned for some reports! Here are a few shots from our trip. Thanks for checking!
I had Josh and company yesterday morning for a 3/4 day trip. We ended up with a decent , we didn’t set the world on fire, but we caught plenty of fish. It just seemed like every bite was 15 minutes apart. We caught a handful of drum, specks, greys, skate, pig fish, pin fish, lizard fish, and I’m probably missing some other random species in there. Enjoyable day with this crew – thank you guys for fishing with me! Here is one of Joshs over slot drum that had some serious shoulders on him. Beautiful fish!
Heading to Nova Scotia tomorrow for a short getaway with my wife! I will be back on the 22nd. Plenty of open dates in October. The rest of September is almost slam full. Call me to book your trip!
I had the pleasure of joining Capt Bryan Dehart for some fun on the Pamlico River today. The ultimate goal of the trip was to do some aerial photographs on a lot listings of his. For those of you who don’t know, I do alot real estate photography in the “off season.” I can’t pay the bills with just fishing……. yet!
Bryan offered up the chance to hang in to a few monster Pamlico Drum before we headed over to the track of land to get some shots. Of course, he didn’t have to ask me twice. We headed out on a slick calm morning and got it done. Bryan knows the area very well, and put us right on the fish. I do not run charters out there, but if you are interested then I can certainly hook you up with Bryan – he is first class. It didn’t take long before the rods were doubled over. We ended up cranking on 9 fish before we decided to wrap it up and head to the lot. Thank you Byran!!! Awesome day. Since I had all the equiptment I went ahead and took some quality photos and video while we were fishing. Enjoy!
Summer is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Salt Minded Charters has to end. This year I will be keeping the boat on the Elizabeth River from October until March. If you are interested in catching big Speckled Trout then give me a call and book your trip.
I will be fishing on the Outer Banks through the end of September. This is a great time to visit the Outer Banks. Less traffic, cooler weather, and the fishing gets even better! Give me a shout to book your trip – let’s go fishin’
