Pics Report

Sorry for the lack of updates!!!!!  It’s very important to me to update my site as much as possible – no matter how busy I am.   I’ve been running 3 a days so I leave at 5:30 and get home at 9.  Enough of the excuses, right?  Here are some pics from some recent trips.  Been on the over slot drum pretty consistently throw in a cobia here and there with a few other bonus fish and you got yourself the weekly report!  Thanks for checking SaltMinded.com!

Sheeposaurus

Had some water turn up in my lower unit during a routine tune up.  While Jeff (Wells Marine) gets my back up and running I was able to hop on my old boat and my buddy Patrick put me on my first Sheepshead today and it was a nice’n! We caught a few more Sheeps and a Taug.   Weighed her in at TWs and came in at 9lbs 8oz.  Super stoked! Thanks Patrick!

6/25 Fishing Report

Running out of catchy blog title ideas.   Tomorrow we are going to catch a different species of fish – not sure what it’s gonna be yet, but it’ll be something new.   More drum from today.

Triple headers

Triple header half day trips.  The morning crew got into some sick drum fishing in the second half of the trip.  All you wanted including this triple header.   The fish went in the 55gal livewell while the others were netted for a quick pic and a healthy release.  The afternoon trip was bluefish and a throwback flounder.  The sunset trip was bluefish and and pulled the hook on a drum.  Good start to the day – tough finish.  These drum are very tide dependent with sometimes only a short window to get em.  That window was mid morning.

Back at it

Took a couple days off to spend with my girls and to get my outboard serviced.  Been fishing about 2 months straight now – so a day off was nice.  Got back at it today.  Forgot how tough a  hard sou’wester can make the fishing.  This morning was bounced around looking for drum and never found em’.  I take that back – we found them, on someone elses boat.   Got to watch them real in a few.  Were were bout 30 yards away form the zone I guess.   Mid day trip we caught some bottom fish and went for glory outside the inlet. Really wanted to get these guys on a cobia, but it never happened.   Really stiff SSW wind made for some rough / and wet condtions.  These guys should have been rewarded for their efforts.    Last trip it it was blowing about 25+ but we did manage to find some drum that wanted to cooperate.   Thanks for fishing with me everyone !
