Nanner superstition

Some people think bananas are bad luck on a boat…… I don’t.  Today I had Jim and Colleen and their 3 kids on the boat for a morning half dayer.   We started off at the striper grounds and we found motherloads of dinks.  Great fun for the kids casting and hooking their own fish non stop.  Never found the keepers we wanted. Headed to the trout grounds and started casting.  One of the kids pulls out a banana.  I let them know about the superstition.  As soon as Dan took the last bite of the banana, Colleen caught the first speck of the trip.   It was classic.  Then Dan said he can’t fish because he has banana in his belly – HA!!! Fun time with this crew despite the nursery fishing.  Thanks guys

Bass and Choppas

Matt and I randomly drove up to New Jersey on Monday night in hopes of getting in in the red hot striper action that was going on up there.  It isn’t something we get to do around here very much anymore so it was nice to be greeted with birds and fish working the surface for hours.  We caught them jigging, castings, and on flies.    Really enjoy these kind of fishing trips with my brother, we are planning to go to FL sometime next month.  Still plenty of fishing going on around here too so give me a call and lets go!  Charter tomorrow so I will have a sound report for you.  Thanks!

Bulls on Parade

My buddy Steve and I got a late start and headed out to try the big drum for a couple hours.   We only had a short window to fish so we got a little bit of bait and headed out.  What happened after that was one for the record books – we straight up crushed em!!  Non stop action until we ran out of bait.  I think we caught atleast a dozen. What a fun time!  Enjoying my new camera dome port.

Disconnecting . . .

It’s taken me way too long to pull the plug on social media (mainly Facebook).  I’m finally realizing how much of a huge waste of time can be. I will say that it has certainly helped grow my business, but I feel that it isn’t something I really need anymore.  I am going to continue to update my website, and I will also make videos and an occasional Instagram photo.   I appreciate everyone who follows my blog – thank you guys so much!!!

Recent little fly fishing trip – few specks and a flounder.

Buggy Whip

Matt and I went out for a little fly fishing session.  Caught specks, stripers, and a rat red.  Super fun time with nobody around and some hungry little fish.
