Spring 2023 – Big News

Welcome Back! We’ve got some exciting news for the 2023 season. NEW BOAT! I know what you’re probably thinking – I’ve only had my current boat for two years. Well, unfortunatly I had some issues with it that forced me to go in a different direction. I went with a tried and true North Carolina built 25′ C-Hawk. I am super excited about this boat – and it will probably be the last one I ever own (hopefully!). Fishing is already heating up with the warm temps. We have plenty of red drum around and even a showing of some speckled trout here locally. The calendar is filling up pretty fast for this time of year so make sure to give me a shout to get your desired date and time. Thanks!

Back after it!

We have had some excellent red drum / puppy drum fishing since starting back up a couple weeks ago. The warmer days with Southerly winds are almost a guarantee drum beat down. The cold fronts and Northerly winds are locking them up. I am not sure where they go and what they do but they hide from me pretty well. We have been mixing in some catches of speckled trout and bluefish as well. Looking forward to the arrival of the highly anticipated COBIA! I am fully booked up for cobia season but I recommend calling around now and getting yourself a charter booked for mid May. Don’t wait for the reports to show up or you will be stuck on a fishbooker boat. Thanks for checking!

Rate Increase for 2022

Hello All! Thanks for visiting Salt Minded Charters. I am very excited about the upcoming season. I have added some new accessories to the boat – including a new trolling motor! The fish aren’t going to stand a chance. My rates have increased due to the rising fuel costs. Please head over to the trips and info page to check them out. Thanks and looking forward to seeing repeat charters and meeting new ones!

Report!!! finally

Wow, can’t believe I haven’t posted a fishing report since June!!! Sad really. Been an absolutely amazing summer with some epic fishing. Trout and reds have been paying the bills and pleasing crowds all summer long. We’ve had great weather and haven’t hardly any days off! Thank you everyone for joining me this season – I hope everyone has had as much fun as I had!

Inshore action

We’ve had some great inshore fishing for speckled trout and reds. There have been some BIG trout around! I appreciate all the inquiries I am trying hard to stay on top of voicemails and emails. I am typically booked up 2-3 weeks out so if you call me during evening hours and want to fish the next day please forgive me if I do not get back to you!!! Thanks for checking
