Early shmearly

I got alot of guys that only want a morning trip because they think the fishing is onlly good early.  Sometimes they wont even go if I only have an afternoon open.  I try to explain it to them but I guess they just think I’m trying to sell em on a trip.  Well, today was a prime example.  Happens pretty often actually.  This morning was very tough fishing.  A few small trout and flounder and that was it.  Afternoon trip we fished the same areas and got on one of the best trout bites I’ve seen all year.  Quality fish non stop up to 22″. We left em bitting to go do something else.

It’s going to be game on soon! Caught a few up north in the kayak yesterday.  Tons of bait is on the way down.  Might be good next week.  Let’s go getcha a citation.  Still good inshore too. IMG_20171012_142707_397IMG_20171012_120008_544IMG_20171011_154825_345IMG_20171009_134442_841uhh

Fall fishing – what to expect!

Hello out there!  Just wanted to drop in and give you guys a little information on what to expect when booking a charter from here on until the end of the year.  I get alot more questions about whats biting, what we’re targeting, and the techniques we’ll be using.

From now until the end of October you can expect to stay in the sound and cast artificial lures for speckled trout, flounder, and puppy drum.   We will also have some good bottom fishing opportunities for sheepshead, togs, sea mullet, big croakers, spot, and a variety of other species.  This is a great trip for the kids that typically provides lots of ACTION!  When the ocean conditions allow we can slip out of the inlet and target the citation drum and false albacore.

As the waters cool off in November the trout and puppy drum will be around but that bite will start to slow down as we transition into Fall Striper fishing.  Last year was a bit of a bust because of poor water quality after Hurricane Matthew.  This year is looking very promising with alot of keeper sized stripers along most of the bridges.   The striper bite will last well into December.   I have plenty of availability the next couple months so give me a shout and lets get after em!!!

If light tackle casting artificial for trout and reds is something you may be into,  we’ll you need to call your boss and tell him you aren’t feeling so good because the fishing is red hot! Come get some!!
