Bookings – and fish!

Rumors of some stripers showing up around some of the local bridges in our area.  Doesn’t surprise me with this early arrival of spring!  My boat work will be finished up this week and I am going to be out searching.  So pumped on the upcoming season – I cannot wait to get you guys on the water!   Please give me a shout and lets get your trip in the books so you can get the exact date you want.  I am booking days in June and July almost daily so they will fill up quick.  Thanks everyone for checking Salt Minded.com!

Checking in

Hey guys, just wanted to give you all some updates.  Got the boat back from the welder – had some welds repaired on my tower. Had to take all my controls down, so now its back in the shop getting everything hooked back up. Some things I do myself, but others are still over my head.   Also, I do a lot of real estate photography this time of year, so it works out better when someone else does the major repairs.    I’m hoping that this mild winter will allow us to start fishing a little earlier this year.  I’m hopeful that we will have some options in the sound late March or early April.   Please don’t wait long to book your charter for the 2016 summer season.  These dates will be booked up long before you check into your rental house.   Give me a call and lets get ya locked in!!!!  Thanks for checking

Pine Island Sound Camping Trip

Just returned home from another epic trip to Florida with my brother.  So lucky to share these experiences and the passion of fishing and adventure with him.  We made the extremely long drive down and set up camp on Sunday night.

We were faced with some brutal conditions for the first two days.  We knew it going down there, but the plan was to atleast get a feel for the area and try to dial in some locations so that we could be ready when conditions got better.

We still caught tons of fish in cold, windy conditions. Trout, Reds, Snook, and Juvenile Tarpon were among some of the target species.  We fished hard sun up to sun down every day.

When the wind finally died and the sun came out it was game on.  The water was extremely clear and provided some epic sight casting conditions for both fly and spinning tackle. We caught trout, reds, and snook all day long.   I would say the highlight of the trip was the trout bite, most likely due to the extreme water temp drop in the sound.   The snook were around but not in great numbers.   The prefer a little warmer water.   We did catch a ton of them, and some nice ones in the mix.

After a week of epic fishing we were both stoked and completely fished out…… for now.

Can’t wait to get back……..

I didn’t film or shoot nearly as much as I normally do, but I did grab a few pics here and there.

First trips of 2016

Had a couple half day trips today.  We had a lot of action – but everything was on the small side.  Alot of throwback trout and stripers.  We did manage one striper that made it to the fish box.  Thanks guys – very enjoyable day!
