Surprise!

Went looking for cobia, found nothing. Went looking for Amberjack – found cobia.   Cobia on the grill tonight for these guys. Nice work fellas!

Wow

Can’t believe the busy season is coming to an end.  What a great year! I really appreciate everyone who came and fished with me this summer.  I can’t thank you enough for choosing Salt Minded Charters!  Still have plenty of trips and fishing to do.  Should be catching fish on into November so give me a call and lets get out there!

Cobi

Morning trip – ran out looking for the grass that was loaded with Mahi.    it vanished over night……. Came back inside and caught a mess of bottom fish and 3 drum.  Fun morning!

Afternoon we headed out looking for a cobia and we found a few.   Got 1 for the box and a throwback.  Saw a pair of mooses, but I did thing that I usually do when cobia fishing – blow it!  Thanks for fishing with me guys, fun day!

Mahi Madness

Fun day of Mahi fishing today.  Had some beautiful water and huge grass mats 6 miles off the beach.  We probably caught well over 50 mahi on the morning trip.  30 in the box and back to the dock at 11.  Mostly small , but a few nice ones in the mix.   Went back out and got me some for my freezer.  Fish tacos for days!

8/14 Report

Sat at my keyboard way too long trying to pick a title for todays report…. Usually, something really sticks out for the day that comes to mind.   Today I had 2 half day trips that went pretty smooth.  The morning trip we started bait fishing in hopes of pounding our way to the Amberjack.   A little too much bump so we stayed inside and got the drum real good.

The morning trip was 4 guys from New Jersey, the afternoon was 3.  They are all staying in the same house in Corolla.

The afternoon we did some flounder fishing.   We got a few for the fryer or oven whichever you prefer. Maybe the grill, I dunno.   We went for the drum at the end of the trip and got 2.
