RAIN!
We have had more rain in the past couple days then we’ve had all summer. Of course, it coincided with “turnover” weekend so the traffic has been madness. All that equals me not leaving the house. So finally Ray and I got stir crazy enough to go out for a couple hours when the rain seemed to be letting up. It was still sprinkling a little, but we pulled some live baits around behind a chum slick and managed a nice cobia, a great way to break cabin fever. Charters this week so stay tuned for plenty of reports and thanks for checking salt minded!
Half Tower
So excited about this new upgrade to the boat! I am having a “Half Tower” built above the console. I will also be moving all the controls to the top, making this the only station to run the boat. This has many advantages – obviously for sight fishing, but also frees up one of the most comfortable seats on the boat for my guests! Also will be adding more rod holders too. Flounder & Drum
And it continues – more flounder and drum today. We bottom fished most of the trip with some flounder and bottom fish keeping us busy. I asked them if they wanted to try casting for the last hour and see if we can get Dale on a puppy drum. Glad we did – found a couple bites and Dale got to catch his first Drum – a nice 26 incher at that. Great time with this crew, absolutely beautiful calm conditions this morning. Thanks guys!
Mark & Company
Wrecked the puppy drum this morning, had a school of them around us at one point and it was just silly Picked a few more off until we decided to try the flounder. Not as much action as the drum gave us but we picked up a few during a couple drifts. Went live baiting at the end of the trip and got a nice striper. The trout didn’t want to play today. Thanks guys
