What the ….. ?
Saw this giant Mola Mola on the flats today. I don’t think he was 100% healthy. Plenty of drum around!

Made another trip up – this time with my Dad and Brother. We had a slow start , but ended up finding a really good bite in the end. Here is Matt with a nice 26″er that he caught right before we got run out by the weather. Always a fun day with my Dad and Brother. I am running a striper charter later in the week so stay tuned for a local report, and thanks for checking!
My buddy Patrick and I headed up early morning to crank on some trout, then maybe put a deer down in the afternoon for our first annual Cast & Blast. Patrick and his wife are expecting a baby boy any day now – so we had to have a last hoorah! The casting portion of the trip was pretty successful. We caught a bunch of healthy specks, including a plump 27″ fish. I can’t wait to run a few charters up here in the next couple weeks. The fishery on the Elizabeth River is world class for speckled trout. Give me a shout when you are ready to get in on the action!
Wow! Pretty impressive striper bite we have going on. Stoked to see the quality and quantity of rockfish we have up and down all of the local bridges. My daughter Hazel didn’t have school today, so we headed out for a little fishin’ trip this afternoon. We trolled 1 stretch and managed a nice little catch. Fun times with my girl!
My buddy Chory and I headed out yesterday evening to try the pilings for some rockfish. We left the boat ramp at about 4:00pm and fished a little over an hour. We managed about 10 rock with 5 keepers. Give me a shout if you are interested in doing some striper fishing. We can cast the pilings or sit back and troll. I only have another week or so before I move up the the Elizabeth River.
